CHITRANGADA,
QUEEN OF HEARTS 2009
Presented in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Sherbrooke and Gatineau, Chitrangada Queen of Hearts combines storytelling and Odissi dance. It is an adaptation of the dramatic poem Chitrangada written by Rabindranâth Tagore (1861-1941). Winner of the 1913 Nobel Prize in Literature, Tagore celebrates the strength of women and the advent of an era where relationships can be based on respect and equality.
